CD147 / EMMPRIN, Human
Catalog Number: EZC-CD7-H1
Synonym: Basigin, BSG, 5F7, CD147, EMMPRIN, M6, OK, TCSF, cluster of differentiation 147
Source: Recombinant human CD147(rhCD147) Met 1 - His 205 (Accession # NP_940991.1) fused with a C-terminal his tag was produced in human HEK293 cells.
Molecular Characterization: rhCD147 was fused with 6his tag at C-terminaland has a calculated MW of 21.6 kDa expressed. The predicted N-terminal is Ala 22. Protein migrates as 30-35 kDa in reduced SDS-PAGE resulting from glycosylation.
Purity: >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. All lots are greater than 95% pure.
Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU per 1 g of the rhCD147 by the LAL method.
Formulation: Bulk protein in a 0.22 m filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4 and delivered as liquid formulation or lyophilized powder.Normally 5-8% trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Storage: Store at -20? in lyophilized state after receipt. For long term storage, upon reconstitution rhCD147 should be aliquot and store at -20? or -80?. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Background: CD147, also known as Basigin (BSG), or extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer (EMMPRIN). The human basigin protein contains 269 amino acids that form two heavily glycosylated C2 type immunoglobulin-like domains at the N-terminal extracellular portion. A second form of basigin has also been characterized that contains one additional immunoglobulin-like domain in its extracellular portion. As members of the immunoglobulin superfamily play fundamental roles in intercellular recognition involved in various immunologic phenomena, differentiation, and development, basigin is thought also to play a role in intercellular recognition and regulate several distinct functions, such as spermatogenesis, expression of the monocarboxylate transporter and the responsiveness of lymphocytes. Basigin is a type I integral membrane receptor that has many ligands, including the cyclophilin (CyP) proteins Cyp-A and CyP-B and certain integrins.(1-4).
